Home Med Cabinet started as a simple medication tracker for one person. With v2.1, it becomes a tool for the whole family — and takes a big step toward being a personal medication reference you can actually understand.
Here's everything new.
Family Members
The most requested feature since launch. You can now create profiles for each family member — Mom, Dad, Grandma, yourself, anyone — and assign medications to each person.
What this means in practice:
Your mom takes blood pressure medication. Your dad takes something for cholesterol. You take allergy pills. Instead of one long list mixed together, each person gets their own clear view.
On the home screen, a new family filter lets you switch between members with one tap. See everyone's medications at once, or focus on one person. No scrolling through pills that aren't yours.
Setting it up takes about 30 seconds per person — just a name, and the app generates a clean initial-based icon automatically.
Medicine Wiki
Every medication in Home Med Cabinet now links to a built-in Wiki page with plain-language information about what the medicine does, common side effects, storage instructions, and important warnings.
This isn't a wall of medical jargon copied from a prescription insert. We rewrote everything in clear, readable language — the same grandma-friendly approach we use throughout the app. Large text, short sentences, organized sections.
Audio playback (Premium): For users who prefer listening over reading — or whose eyesight makes reading difficult — Premium subscribers can tap the play button and hear the Wiki article read aloud. Useful for seniors, for people multitasking, or for anyone who finds it easier to listen.
Location Filters
You asked for better organization. Now, beyond filtering by family member, you can also filter medications by location — bathroom cabinet, kitchen shelf, bedside table, travel bag.
Tap the location filter on the home screen to see only the medications stored in one place. Helpful when you're standing in front of the medicine cabinet and want to check what's there without scrolling through everything.
Android — In Testing
The number one request since day one: Android support is coming.
Home Med Cabinet is currently in testing for Google Play. We're running it through final quality checks to make sure it meets the same standard as the iOS version — same big buttons, same clear text, same camera scanning, same languages.

More languages — we're evaluating which languages to add next based on user requests.
