v2.0.1— March 23, 2026
v2.0 is the biggest update to Home Med Cabinet since launch. It ships features that were at the top of the request list — faster ways to add medications and better organization for families.

What's New in v2.0
- AddedBarcode scanning — point your camera at any medication package to add it instantly, no typing required
- AddedPhoto recognition — photograph a prescription label or pill bottle and the app fills in the details automatically
- ImprovedMedication locations — organize your cabinet by physical location (bathroom, kitchen, bedside) or by family member
- ImprovedReminder reliability — reminders now fire correctly after device restarts and iOS permission resets
- ImprovedLarge text support — all screens now fully respect iOS Dynamic Type at all accessibility sizes
- ImprovedMedication detail view — redesigned layout with clearer dosage display and faster access to edit controls
- ImprovedApp launch speed — cold start is now approximately 40% faster on older devices
- FixedNotes field occasionally clearing on save — this no longer happens
- FixedReminder badge count not resetting after acknowledging a dose — fixed
What's Coming Next
A few things we're working on for v2.x and beyond:
More languages — Portuguese (Brazil), German, and Italian are in progress and planned for later this year. The app currently supports English, Spanish, French, and Russian.
Android — the most requested feature overall. We're building it and it's a priority for later this year.
Cloud backup (optional) — opt-in sync between devices, with end-to-end encryption. Staying true to the privacy-first approach, local-only will always be the default.
Medication history — a log of when doses were taken, useful for doctor visits and caregivers.
